Osun Assembly Passes Environmental Protection Bill 2022 Into Law

The Osun State House of Assembly on Tuesday passed into law the State of Osun Environmental Protection Bill 2022 into law.

The bill was passed into law during the Plenary of the State House of Assembly Osogbo.

The motion for its passage was moved by the Deputy Majority Leader Hon. Kunle Akande and seconded by Hon. Adrullai Adegbile representing Ola- Oluwa State Constituency respectively.

In the same vein, Osun State University Teaching Hospital Establishment Bill 2022 was also pass through first reading at the floor of the House of Assembly with the motion moved by the Deputy Majority Leader Hon. Kunle Akande and seconded by Chair man House Committee on Health Hon. Elizabeth Abioye respectively.

He noted that the bill if passed into law would give legal backing to the teaching hospital.

He said that the establishment of the teaching hospital would be well running and enhance training and research.

He observed that the bill would help in construct and establishment of the hospital complex and enhance palliative as well.

The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye in his remarks noted that the Osun State University Teaching Hospital (UNIOSUNTH) Establishment co- sponsors would meet to put the bill in proper shape.

However, under the Matter of Urgent Public Importance, the lawmaker representing Oriade State Constituency Hon. Desmond Ojo called the attention of House of Assembly the indiscriminate stoppage of public transports on major roads in the state.

He observed that their is need for commercial buses to have bus-stop at strategic place to avert unnecessary stoppage on the roads.

In their various contributions, the lawmakers noted that there should be orderliness in boarding buses in the state.

They observed that there should be pro active action concerns bus boarding across the state.

They advised the ministry of Transports to be on their toes in the state.
They called to have bus stop in Osogbo metropolis and make use of it respectively.

Meanwhile the Speaker Rt. Hon. Owoeye has directed to invited the ministry of Works and Transport to appear before the house of assembly for briefing.

However, the lawmakers lauded the Speaker of the Parliament Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye who clocks 50th.

They congratulated the celebrant on his leadership style in the State House of Assembly since inception.
