NGO Donates Hospital Equipment To Health Centres In Osogbo

A Non-Governmental Organization, Osogbo Asheville Sister Cities Association (OSASCA) has donated hospital equipment to selected primary health care centres in Osogbo metropolis.

The donation which was funded by the SCI, it was collected through Dr Jan Watson and is aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery services in Osogbo communities.

While speaking, Chairman OASCA, Dr Oluseyi Atanda said that the donation was made as a result of collaboration between OASCA and Sister Cities International in order to improve the lives of mothers, children, youth and men of the community.

“It is my belief that the service providers in the facility, project implementation committee and local government will ensure that these equipment judiciously used for the purpose they are provided,” he said.

He further said that the historical event is ultimately targeted at moving Osogbo forward.

He noted that the medical supplies was first of it kind as it was the most largest ever medical supplies done from Asheville to Osogbo with a worth of over one million naira to ten health facilities in Osogbo metropolis alongside State Hospital, Asubiaro and Lautech.

These supplies according to the OASCA Chairman are majorly labour and delivery instruments, paediatrician and anaesthesiologists apart from surgical gowns and drapes.

” The 7 PHC selected are; Okebale, Olugunna , Enikaoyun , Ota Efun , Oke Abesu , Odiolowo and Alie , alongside our own international project, Atelewo Model PHC with EmOC facilities, state hospital , Asubiaro and specifically O&G department of LTH have been carefully picked through a background inquest on deficiencies , relevance and patronage of the facilities.

“Ashe ville Sister Cities Incorporated is a member of SCI with 7 city relationship spread across the world and we are proud to be the 6th and only city relationship with Asheville

The National President, Osogbo Progressive Union, Alhaji R.A Siyanbola
commended SCI for the gesture. He urged the beneficiaries of the facilities to make judicious use of the equipments in order to serve the community.
