Ondo State Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu has renewed the political enmity with members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who did not support his governorship ambition.

Akeredolu said members of the APC who worked for the Alliance for Democracy during the November 26, 2016 governorship election would have to reapply for APC membership at their various wards beefore they could be recognized as party men.

The governor stated this at a dinner organized for him by the Ondo State APC on Sunday, adding that there will not be room for disloyal members in the party henceforth.

Specifically, Akeredolu said a serving senator in the state who allegedly worked for the AD candidate, Olusola Oke would not be recognized as leader of the APC in the state again, saying that only loyal party faithful will be tolerated in the party.

Akeredolu recalled that some individuals defected to the AD shortly before the last gubernatorial election, adding that the affected members were alleged of anti party activities and may face sanctions.

The Governor however lauded party stalwarts who stood by him before and during the election, saying that they will be adequately compensated.

Akeredolu declared that there was no place for disloyal party members in his government.

According to him: “A Senator that won his seat under the platform of APC but chose to openly worked for AD during the last governorship election, and later paid for congratulatory advert for me on pages of newspaper. It looks strange to me, this is someone that didn’t even call to congratulate me.

“Tell the senator he is not a member of APC, everyone that involved in anti-party activities can’t come back through the back door, they would have to go back to their various wards to reapply for APC membership card and apologise openly, they should also do the needful.”
