Prophet D A Samuel Appoints Boro Ekoto as Vice, Heals 8 People of Madness
The General Overseer of Christ Worshippers Church, Osubi, Effurun, Warri, Prophet Dr. Duromola Adedayo Samuel has appointed Elder Boro Ekot as the General Evangelist and Vice General Overseer of the Church worldwide.
Disclosing this during the church Sunday service held on December 4, 2016 in the Church headquarters auditorium, Prophet Samuel said that the unflinching loyalty, dedication and support of Elder Boro Ekoto to the growth and development of the church informed his choice.
With this new appointment, the office of the Church Administrator formerly occupied by Boro has been abolished henceforth.
The new Vice General Overseer, Boro Ekoto is currently the Chairman of Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (Seamen Miwa and Water Transport Branch), Delta State. He is married with children.
Also, in what appears to be a sweeping reform, the General Overseer equally disclosed that the nomenclature of the shepherd in charge of each branches of the church has been changed from Pastors to Evangelists. This, he explained is in consonant with the fact that the church is a Spiritual one and not Pentecostal.
The church has earlier called on its members to submit memoranda and suggestions towards the review of the church constitution and bye-laws in tandem with the dynamics of the present without affecting its spiritual status.
Meanwhile, a total of eight people made of five women and three men were cured of madness and the church members supported their rehabilitation with gifts of clothes and cash.
Earlier, in his sermon, Prophet Samuel explained the seven special things that would happen to anybody operating under divine favour.
According to him, “you cannot kill a man operating under divine favour”. Using King David as an example,; David killed Uriah and took over his wife God so love him that he did not allow him to build a church for Him as his hands are soiled with blood. Jacob and Esau were in the same womb and God said “Jacob I love and Esau I hate
He further explained that Elijah was a wicked prophet who did not have a house or car or any earthly property because of his wickedness. This shows that if God loves a man and the man remains wicked man, he cannot prosper.
Prophet Samuel added that nobody can kill the dream of the man with divine favour.
Advising the members to always ask for divine favour in their prayers and set out their dream plan, the Prophet said that the moment a man gets divine favour that person would reach the desired destination
He also argued that a man under divine favour would shine at home as well as in a strange land.
Using himself as a prism, Prophet Samuel said, many did not know him back at home in Akure, Ondo state capital, Nigeria. He added that some thought he was a ritualist to have built some houses in Akure and nobody was living there. However, during the burial of his late mother last month, the mammoth crowd of members of Christ Worshippers Church that followed vindicated him as a Prophet and General Overseer of a church.
As a mark of divine favour, he explained he has been blessed in Warri where he is not an Urhobo man with the way God has directed his footsteps to receive honour not only in Nigeria but in some other African countries like Sierra Leone, South Africa as well as Europe and America.
According to the Prophet, “anybody operating under divine favour would always prosper on anything that they lay their hands upon.
Quoting from Genesis 32:5 and 39:21-33, the General Overseer said “Joseph prospered in the house of Pontifah, even when Joseph was imprisoned in Egypt, he still prospered. Jeremiah 17:7-8 says that when a man put his trust in God, he would be like a tree planted by the side of the river.
He added further that:” The promotion of a man under divine favour is certain. It may be delayed but it must surely happen like what happened in Genesis 41:38-50 when the wine presser that Joseph interpreted for in the prison forgot Joseph for two until a situation made him remembered Joseph. When Joseph was brought out of prison, Pharaoh said that he has never seen a man as wise as Joseph; therefore he must be put in the position of authority whereby he would only be higher than him with throne.
“Citing Isaiah 75:6-7, promotion does not come from the East, West or South. God is the judge. He raises one over the other. Also, 1 Samuel2:7-8 when God decides to promote you, He can take you to any level that you think it is impossible. In the words of the Prophet, “if man promotes you, they can bring you down. If newspapers promote you today, they can turn against you tomorrow. The same people writing good things about you today would write bad things about you tomorrow because bad news sells their papers.
“Anybody with divine favour will surely reach the top on anything he ventured into. In Genesis 41:44 Pharaoh said that nobody would do anything in the land of Egypt without the permission of Joseph. This is confirmed in Deuteronomy 28:22 as well as 1 Samuel22:12; 11Samuel 2:4 and 11 Samuel 5:1-3 wherein David ruled over multi-ethnic society.”
Urging the congregation to always seek for divine favour, Prophet Samuel explained how the geneology of the Lord Jesus Christ was traced to King David in Mark 10:46-52
