Court Remands Suspected Cultist For Attempting To Kill Policemen In Osun

A Magistrate Court Sitting in Osogbo the Osun State Capital has ordered the remands of a 27-Year- Old Suspected Cultist, Temitope Balogun into Police Custody for attempting to kill policemen on patrol team, CityMirror News Report.
Balogun was dragged to court by police on a five counts charge bothering on felony, conspiracy, possession of dangerous weapons, belonging to unlawful society cult group and attempting to kill policemen on patrol duty.
The prosecutor Inspector Olayiwola Rasak briefing the court said Balogun and others now at large committed the offence on 1st of December 2022 at Osun groove area of Isale- Osun in Osogbo.
He said the defendant committed felony to with belonging to an unlawful society cult group and possession of dangerous weapons such as Axe, gun, without lawful occasion in the public to cause fear and terror to the neighborhoods.
“The defendant threatning the life of Policemen on Patrol team in Oja-Oba division led by ASP Aruwa Samuel when he fired a cult to size gun at them while they were performing their lawful duty .
Prosecutor also said that the defendant attempted to kill policemen on patrol team in Oja Oba led by ASP Samuel when he (defendant) fired a cult size gun at them while they are performing their lawful duties .
The offence according to Police Prosecutor the offence is punishable under section 516, section 80, 82, 320(1) 86, and 62A of the criminal code cap 34 Vol. II laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2022.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to all the five counts charge.
The Magistrate Mr A.A Adeyeba remanded the defendant in police custody.
The case was adjourned to January 20th for ruling on bail.
