Again, Senate rejects Magu as EFCC Chairman

Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu has again been rejected by the Nigerian Senate.
Magu was re-nominated as the substantive chairman of EFCC by President Buhari to the senate.
He was earlier rejected in December 2016 based on the security report by the State Security Service (SSS) which said Magu lacks integrity.
Magu was rejected on Wednesday, after his appearance before the Senate for his confirmation hearing during which Dino Melaye raised the SSS report dated March 14.
The SSS security report as read by Melaye states:“In the light of the foregoing, Magu has failed the integrity test and will eventually constitute a liability to the anti-corruption stand of the current government.”
The SSS reaffirmed its position that the nominee lacks integrity to lead the country’s anti-corruption agency.
