Over 1,500 Benefit From AMBO’s Free Medical Outreach In Osun Community

More than 1,500 residents of Ode-Omu and neighbouring communities in Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun State received free medical services on Saturday as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), extended his campaign activities through a health intervention programme.

The outreach, facilitated by APC stalwart, Engr. Kazeem Opejin, attracted hundreds of beneficiaries who received various medical services, including blood pressure and blood sugar screening, body weight and Body Mass Index (BMI) checks, medical consultations, prescription drugs, health counselling and eye care. Over 1,000 pairs of eyeglasses, alongside eye medications, were distributed to people diagnosed with vision-related conditions.

Speaking during the programme, the APC candidate, represented by his wife, Dr. Sekinat Oyebamiji, said quality healthcare would rank among the top priorities of his administration if elected governor in the August 15 poll.

She said the medical outreach was designed to bridge the healthcare gap affecting many rural communities while demonstrating the APC’s commitment to improving the wellbeing of residents across the state.

Dr. Oyebamiji maintained that the state’s health sector requires urgent attention, arguing that many primary healthcare facilities have deteriorated and no longer provide the level of service expected by the people.

She said, “Looking at the present condition of the health sector in Osun State, reaching out to people through their healthcare needs is the right thing to do. We have organised medical outreaches across the state, and this is the second in this federal constituency.

“You can see that AMBO’s team is made up of people who understand the needs of Osun residents. A vote for the APC is a vote for improved healthcare, better infrastructure, quality education and a more prosperous state.”

She also appealed to residents, particularly women and other eligible voters, to support the APC at the governorship election, assuring them that an Oyebamiji administration would place greater emphasis on accessible and affordable healthcare.

In his remarks, Opejin said the outreach was conceived to provide immediate medical relief for residents who struggle to access healthcare services, especially those living in rural communities.

He expressed confidence that Oyebamiji would transform the health sector if elected, noting that the APC candidate has consistently demonstrated a passion for improving healthcare delivery.

According to him, “When AMBO is elected governor, he will make healthcare more effective and accessible than what we are witnessing today. His wife is a medical doctor, and both of them are passionate about healthcare. They have supported many health-related initiatives, and this outreach is another way of assisting the people of Ode-Omu and surrounding rural communities.”

Opejin added that the outreach also reflected the party’s belief that the health of the people should not be neglected during electioneering.

“As we campaign, we must also ensure that our people remain healthy enough to participate in the election and continue with their daily lives. Health is wealth, and this is my own contribution to supporting AMBO because I believe he will prioritise the wellbeing of both the young and the elderly,” he said.
