Florida Pastor Arrested For Exposing 14-Year-Old To HIV

Pastor of St. James United American Free Will Baptist Church, Timothy Chaneyfield, has been arrested by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit at Orlando Airport.

According to Sheriff Grady Judd, the 42-year-old Florida Pastor was placed on a watch after investigators received a cyber tip from Instagram about inappropriate activity between an adult and a child.

Further discussion with the victim, a 14-year-old boy, revealed that Chaneyfield allegedly picked up the boy from his neighbourhood three times, took him to his home and sexually abused him.

The suspect also stated his desire, through a phone call, to continue this illicit relationship upon his return from Baltimore, where he went to preside over a funeral at Compassionate Care Hospice as an acting chaplain.

Authorities secured a warrant for Chaneyfield’s arrest on July 29, and with the Orlando Police Department’s assistance, he was arrested upon arrival from Baltimore.

Timothy admitted to sexual activity with the minor during questioning.

During further investigations, detectives confirmed that Chaneyfield is HIV positive and receiving treatment. This call came from a similar victim of Pastor Timothy.

Chaneyfield faces charges of three counts of lewd battery of a minor, three counts of interfering with custody of a minor, unlawful use of a two-way communication device, three counts of travelling to meet a minor, four counts of an HIV-infected person having sex without informing a partner, possession of marijuana, and five counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
