By Oluwamayowa Ojo
No fewer than four students sustained injury in a violent clash between students of the Government Technical College and Osogbo High School, Osogbo, on Wednesday.
The students who engaged in free for all hurled stones on one-another during the fight that last for about 30 minutes on the Iwo road, Osogbo.
CityMirrorNews learnt that the technical students were protesting the alleged extortion by the men of the Nigeria Peace Corps and the Vigilante Group of Nigeria posted to the school.
The technical students accused the security operatives of arbitrarily seizing their telephone handsets and other valuables, alleging that the Peace Corps and VGN men were doing that in connivance with the students of the Osogbo High School.
The technical students went on rampage and attacked their colleagues at the Osogbo High School before they were dispersed by policemen.
Four students who sustained injury in the attack were being treated at an undisclosed hospital in Osogbo.
All effort to get the reaction of the VGN’s state Commandant, Mr Ismaila proved abortive as he did not answer several calls put to his phone number.
