Senator Adeleke had won the ticket of PDP in a primary held at the Osogbo Township Stadium on Tuesday, putting to an end question on who flies the banner of the party in the July 16 governorship poll.
Reacting to the development, Ogunrinu said the outcome of the internal poll was a victory to every members of the PDP, appealing to leaders and every members of the party to rally round the candidate to ensure victory for the party in the upcoming governorship election.
“On Tuesday, delegates in our great Party, PDP, made a definitive choice on who should be the candidate for the July 16 governorship poll, and every democrat, should respect it,” Ogunrinu said in a congratulatory message.
“It is on that note that I congratulate Senator Adeleke on his emergence of our party and I must state that there is no ‘victor and no vanquished’.
“The victory is for our great party in Osun state and more importantly, people who are counting on PDP to take the State out of the wood as a consequence of years of maladministration of the APC administrations.
