Six arraigned for stealing 5, 800 fowls in Osun
Osun State Police Command on Tuesday arraigned six people for allegedly stealing fowls.
The accused persons are: Odebiyi Yinka (20), Ayoola Samson (20), Regina Philip (40), Grace Odeh (35), Cecilia Ochilli (25) and Elizabeth Ankra (24).
They were arraigned on four count charges of conspiracy, stealing, aiding and abetting, contrary to and punishable under sections 516, 383, 390 and 427.
They were alleged to have committed the crime on July 5, 2016 at Erin-Osun, Irepodun Local Government Area of Osun state.
The first and second accused persons, Yinka and Samson, were said to have stolen 5,800 fowls valued N1.5million, property of one Pastor Mrs Aluko Titilayo farm.
Other accused persons were said to have received the stolen fowls.
When the consolidated charge sheet was read to the accused persons, they pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
Counsel to the accused persons, Mrs Bose Adeyinka, urged the court to release the accused persons on their initial bail, noting that they have never jumped bail since they were granted bail.
Magistrate Olusola Aluko, however, released the accused persons on their former bail.
He, thereafter, adjourned the case till Nov 25, 2016, for hearing.
