Accept Result And Congratulate Buhari, Chief Ogundokun Urges Atiku
An elder statesman, Chief Abiola Ogundokun, who was the National Publicity Secretary of the defunct National Party of Nigeria (NPN) that ruled Nigeria in the Second Republic has congratulated President Muhammad Buhari on his reelection victory in the last week Saturday presidential election.
Congratulating President Buhari for emerging victorious in the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections, Ogundokun appealed to the Nigerians irrespective of their political affiliation to remain calm and peaceful in order to make the country develop as envisaged by the founding fathers.
In a message personally signed by the elder statesman in Iwo, Osun State and made available to CityMirrorNews in Osogbo, Chief Ogundokun stated that the victory is an act of God. This is because, it is only God that ordains, installs leaders and removes. President Muhammad Buhari has been ordained by God to lead the country for another term, that was why he has won and got reelected.
He appealed to the masses to cooperate with President Buhari’s administration in its determined strive to fight corruption, provide security and dividends of democracy to the teeming populace.
Ogundokun lauded the security agencies for their display of professional and ethical standards required of them during and after the election processes.
He reminded the youths that genuine development in terms of infrastructure as well as institutional apparatus can only be achieved if and when people cooperate with the ruling government and tow the path of peace. This is because while peace is sine qua for development, government and governance goes beyond partisanship as it is for all the citizenry.
Ogundokun, who was one of the founding fathers of PDP urged the party flagbearer in the last Presidential election, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku to accept the result of the election and congratulate the President in the spirit of national unity, cohesion and sportsmanship.
He also lauded Governor Gboyega Oyetola and his predecessor in office, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for providing dynamic leadership that has engendered victory for APC and Mr. President in Osun State.
