Zimbabwean Protesters Burn Tyres

Protesters barricaded roads and burned tyres in a suburb of Zimbabwe’s capital Harare on Monday, two days after President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s announced a massive fuel price surge in an effort to stem a deepening economic crisis.

Police fired teargas to disperse youths protesting outside the high court in Zimbabwe’s second city of Bulawayo, according to video footage from the Centre For Innovation & Technology, a local news service.(Reuters)

The Igbimo-Agba Osun has urged all the former gubernatorial aspirants on the platform of APC to work hands in hand to ensure that the party candidate for the coming gubernatorial election, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji emerges victorious Igbimo-Agba, the apex body of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Osun State, made appeal in a communique issued after it first post APC, Osun gubernatorial party's primaries meeting and signed by its Chairman, Chief Engr Sola Akinwumi, and made available to journalists in Osogbo, on Tuesday. The body acknowledged the commitment of stakeholders, former gubernatorial aspirants and every members of the party for unwavering support towards ensuring that the party emerges victorious in the August 8 governorship election in the state. "The body had the Party's Guber Flagbearer,Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji in attendance and resolved as follows: "The body appreciates and acknowledges the commitment of all the stakeholders ,former Guber Aspirants,our revered leaders and every member of this Party for their unwavering resolve towards ensuring electoral victories starting with Osun State Governorship election coming up on the 8th day of August 2026. "That all hands must be on the deck with all the former Guber Aspirants giving the fact that election is actually won from unit level and principle of INCLUSIVITY shall be taken seriously by the Party". The body however congratulated Muslim faithful in the state for witnessing the holy month of Ramadan. "Conclusively,the Chairman,Chief Engr Sola Akinwumi wishes all Muslim faithful happy Ramandan Month with Allah's blessings".
