Two Siblings, Other Docked Over Alleged Theft Of Cat Fish In Osun

Two Siblings were on Thursday arraigned before an Osun State Magistrate’s Court sitting in Osogbo for allegedly stealing cat fish from the fish pond valued N4281,200 belonging to one Owolabi Tajudeen.
The Siblings, Ojo Michael (33) and Ojo Dayo (23) were docked along side one other, Matthew Emmanuel (22) on a two-count charge bearing on Felony to wit stealing.
The prosecutor Inspector Olayiwola Rasaki, said that the three accused persons committed the offence on January 14, 2018 at about 10.pm at Power line Area, Osogbo.
Rasaki further explained that the trio stole cat fish from a pond belonging to Owolabi Tajudeen.
The said the stolen fish was valued at N 4281,200.
The alleged offence according to the prosecutor was contrary to and punishable under Section 516 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Volume 11.Laws of Osun State 2002.
But the suspects pleaded not guilty to the allegations leveled against them.
Defence Counsel, Oyegbemi Adediran applied for the bail of the accused in the most liberal terms, saying they are still presumed innocent until contrary is proved by a court of law.
Adediran who assured the court that suspects would not jump bail if granted said reliable sureties were ready to stand for them.
The presiding magistrate, Mrs A. O Ajanaku granted the trio accused persons bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties each.
Ajanaku ordered that one of the sureties must be a civil servant and be residents within the court jurisdiction and both must be a tax payer.
She directed that the sureties must swear to affidavit of means, produce three passports photographs just as their addresses be verified by the police in charge of the case.
She thereafter, adjourned the case till July 12, 2018 for hearing.
