Journalists Advised On Objectivity, As Osun NUJ Rounds Off Press Week In Grand Style
Journalists have been advised to always say the truth, even in a difficult situation.
The minister in charge of the Living Faith Church, also known as winner’s chapel, Imo, Ilesa, Pastor Samson Abiola gave the advice during a Thanksgiving service to round off the press week of Nigeria union of journalists, Osun state council.
The man of God implored media practitioners to expose the evil men do in the corridor of power, higher institutions and society in general.
Pastor Abiola pointed out that it was the duty of journalists to educate the citizenry on government’s policies and programs and put political office holders on their toes to discharge their statutory functions accordingly.
The NUJ Chairman, Mr Abiodun Olalere in his remarks at the Service assured that Journalists in the state will strive to continue to ensure that the society becomes a better place for all and sundry.
The immediate past commissioner for finance in Osun State, Dr. Wale Bolorunduro thereafter hosted the Journalists at his country home in Ilesa.
He commended Journalists for their roles in sustaining the nation’s democracy in spite of the peanut they are being paid as salary.
He recalled that when the military govt suppressed all other professionals, the media was the only one standing.
