Again, Dong Community Attacked By Unknown Gunmen

Dong community in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau state was again attacked yesterday, Thursday night.
There were sporadic gunshots in the community around 8pm on Thursday night prompting residents to flee for safety in secured areas.
CityMirrorNews source claimed that three people were killed in the attack but official source refuted the claim.
Confirming the attack, Major Adamu Umar, Madia and Information Officer, Operation Safe Havens, OPSH, stated that men of Operation Safe Heavens were attracted to the community by the gunshots and quickly mobilised their men to the scene.
He said that men of the OPSH went after the attackers but that the attackers fled into surrounding bushes and no arrest was made.
He stated further that men of the OPSH have taken over the community and nearby surrounding bushes where the attackers fled to with a view to search and apprehend them.
Umar disclaimed the death rumour stating that no live was lost in the attack.
Bassa local government has been under serial attacks by unknown gunmen recently which prompted the state government to declare a dusk to dawn curfew on the council.
