Concentrate On LG Poll, Famodun Tells APC Members
Chairman of All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Prince Adegboyega Famodun, has declared that the most important focus of the party right now is the local government election which has been scheduled for January, next year.
He has therefore instructed all party members interested in contesting the election to concentrate their efforts on making the APC win comprehensively.
“Nothing should distract us from that goal’, the party chairman said in a statement on the up-coming local government election, circulated to the media in Osogbo today.
The chairman also informed that “the next LG poll in the state would be parliamentary, and not presidential; meaning that every interested aspirants would be elected as councillors into the councils and from amongst themselves, they would then choose the chairman.
According to Prince Famodun, “this model of local government administration is the climax of the on-going reform embarked upon by the government to reposition local government administration for optimal performance”.
He therefore urged all those who have ambition to lead the councils in the state to first concentrate their efforts on, and mobilise to winning their localities for the party.
“It’s when this comprehensive victory has been achieved that we can fully turn our attention to the governorship election, which has been scheduled for September next year’, the chairman said
