WAFU Cup: Rabiu Ali Shoots Nigeria Into Finals
Kano Pillars legend Rabiu Ali nets the winner as Nigeria beat Benin Republic 1-0 to qualify for the WAFU Cup final.
It’s the second time in over a month Nigeria are knocking Benin out of a competition. Nigeria beat the Squirrels 2-1 on aggregate during the CHAN qualifiers.
Goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa has kept cleansheets in all four games he’s been in between the post in this competition.
Peter Eneji is the joint top-scorer in this competition with two goals.
The Super Eagles are the only team yet to concede a goal amongst the teams that got to the group stage of the competition.
Nigeria will play the winner of the semi-final game between Ghana and Niger on Sunday.
