Osun Decides: Ayeni Wins Polling Unit As APC Defeats Accord At Ward 10, Unit 13, Ilesa West
Former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Lawrence Babatunde Ayeni, has recorded a victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) at his polling unit in the ongoing Osun State governorship election.
At Ward 10, Unit 13, in Ilesa West Local Government Area, the APC polled 90 votes, defeating the Accord Party, which scored 55 votes.
Ayeni had earlier commended the peaceful atmosphere at the polling unit and the large turnout of voters after casting his ballot.
The former lawmaker also praised the Federal Government for providing an enabling environment for citizens to exercise their franchise.
Ayeni, however, dismissed allegations of vote-buying, insisting that the APC was sufficiently popular among voters and therefore had no reason to induce them with money.
He had expressed confidence that the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, would emerge victorious in the election.
The result from Ayeni’s polling unit puts the APC ahead by 35 votes over the Accord Party.
