A Youth and Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Development Consultant, Kehinde Adekunle Ibitoye, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over what he described as the significant impact of the Federal Government’s Social Investment Programmes, saying millions of Nigerians are already benefiting from the initiatives.

In a statement issued on Monday and made available to journalists, Ibitoye said the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda had gone beyond policy formulation to delivering tangible benefits to traders, students, youths and vulnerable households across the country.

He said the administration’s intervention programmes were making a difference at the grassroots through grants, skills acquisition initiatives, student loans and financial support for small businesses.

“For too long, our people were promised a lot and given little. Under President Tinubu, we are seeing grants in market women’s accounts, skills in our youths’ hands, and loans in our students’ portals,” he said.

Highlighting some of the administration’s achievements within two years, Ibitoye said over ₦200 billion had been committed to the Presidential Conditional Grant and Loan Scheme aimed at supporting one million small and medium-scale enterprises, with beneficiaries receiving grants of ₦50,000 and loans of up to ₦1 million.

He also cited the launch of the Three Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Programme, which he described as Africa’s largest digital skills initiative designed to equip three million Nigerian youths with skills for global employment opportunities.

According to him, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund) has also provided interest-free loans to students, ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent Nigerians from pursuing tertiary education.

The youth development advocate further noted that the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer Programme had reached 15 million vulnerable households across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, while MSME Clinics established nationwide were providing business registration support, training and market access for entrepreneurs.

Drawing from his experience in youth and SME development, Ibitoye maintained that the programmes were already yielding positive results.

“I have been in the youth and SME sector for years, working on research, advocacy and project implementation. I can tell you these programmes are reaching the grassroots. This is governance that touches the people,” he stated.

He also called on Nigerians to support President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, arguing that continuity would enable the administration to consolidate and expand the ongoing social investment programmes.

According to him, a second term would provide the opportunity to increase support for SMEs from one million to five million businesses, create stronger employment pathways for graduates of the 3MTT programme and deepen transparency in the implementation of government intervention schemes.

“Great policies need time to mature. We have laid the foundation. To abandon it now will be to abandon millions of Nigerians who are just beginning to benefit. For continuity, for jobs, for prosperity, President Tinubu deserves a second term,” Ibitoye said.
He added that the Renewed Hope Agenda was already delivering results and should be given more time to translate into lasting prosperity for Nigerians.
