Osun APC Accuses Adeleke Of Harbouring ‘Wanted Political Thugs’ In Government House
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of harbouring wanted political thugs in the Government House in Osogbo, calling on him to hand them over to the police.
The party alleged that the Government House had been converted into a refuge for political hoodlums allegedly on the wanted list of the state police command, describing the development as unacceptable, unprecedented and strange.
In a statement signed by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, the APC claimed that the governor was not residing in the Government House, alleging that the facility had been abandoned to political thugs, including some allegedly recruited from outside Osun State.
The statement read: “Ideally, the Government House should be the official residence of the governor and members of his family during his constitutional four-year tenure. But the situation is a different ball game in Osun State under the administration of Governor Adeleke, whose government has been openly romancing the deadliest of political thugs, to the consternation of all right-thinking members of society.
“Information has it that Governor Adeleke has not been living in the Government House, which he has abandoned to both local political thugs and those recruited from other states of the federation, especially from the South-East and South-South geopolitical zones of the country”.
The APC commended the Nigeria Police for the recent arrest of some suspected political thugs in the state, alleging that they had turned Osun into a safe haven because of what it described as the governor’s body language.
The party called on Governor Adeleke to hand over all persons it described as hardened criminals and political thugs allegedly staying in the Government House to the police, warning that failure to do so should attract the intervention of the National Security Adviser.
The APC also expressed confidence that its governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, would emerge victorious in the August 15, 2026 governorship election, saying he did not require violence to win the poll.
