Osun 2026: Accord Promises Jobs, Youth Inclusion In Osun
The director of Operations, Imole Youth Mobilisation Commitee, TICC of Accord Party in Osun State, Christopher Adetayo, has outlined plans by the administration to expand youth empowerment programmes, create jobs and increase youth participation in governance as part of efforts to address unemployment in the state.
Adetayo spoke Wednesday during the Osun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Guest Platform programme in Osogbo.
Speaking on the government’s plans for young people, he said ongoing initiatives on skill acquisition and youth empowerment would be expanded in the coming years to provide more opportunities for youths across the state.
According to him, the administration also plans to create jobs for both skilled and unskilled youths while ensuring greater youth inclusion in governance.
“We talked about skill acquisition, youth empowerment and the initiatives that are going on across the state. They are expanding in the coming years. Again, there will be new job creation for both skilled and unskilled youths of the state,” he said.
Adetayo noted that involving more young people in government would help strengthen their confidence in leadership and democratic institutions.
He added that increased youth participation would encourage young people to place greater trust in government and its policies.
Commenting on the Accord Party’s participation in the forthcoming governorship election, Adetayo dismissed suggestions that the party could be excluded from the electoral process.
“There is nothing like that right now because that is a threat to democracy and that won’t happen. The Appeal Court has already upheld the judgment,” he said.
Expressing confidence in the party’s chances at the poll, Adetayo said Accord would be on the ballot for the August 15 governorship election.
“I believe you will see us on August 15 on the ballot paper and we are winning,” he added
