Hon. Adeniyi Ismail Oluwatosin Attends 87th Birthday Celebration of Distinguished Community Leader In Ila Orangun
Honorable Adeniyi Ismail Oluwatosin joined distinguished dignitaries, community leaders, and residents of Ila Orangun on Friday in commemorating the 87th birthday of a highly esteemed elder statesman, community builder, and notable contributor to Nigeria’s national development.
The event, held in Ila Orangun, Osun State, marked the culmination of a two-day commemorative programme organized to honor the long-standing leadership, service, and dedication to community development exhibited by the celebrant.
Activities commenced on Thursday, January 15, 2026, with a special prayer session. The main ceremony took place on Friday at the Permanent Site Hall of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila Orangun (FUHSI). The opening prayer was conducted by the Chief Imam of Ila Orangun, and Dr. Aminu Yusuf delivered the opening address.
The programme featured a keynote lecture delivered by Professor Gbadebo Odewini, Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Uyo, complemented by cultural performances by local troupes showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Ila Orangun.
Distinguished guests in attendance included Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, gubernatorial candidate in the 2026 Osun State election; His Excellency Mallam Abdulrahman AbdulRasaq, represented by the Deputy Governor of Kwara State; Dr. Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola, the Chief Host; former Governor Boni Haruna of Adamawa State; Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, Osun State party leader; and the Royal Father of the Day, Oba Wahab Kayode Oyedotun.
In his goodwill message, Oba Oyedotun appreciated the organizers and attendees for honoring the celebrant, reflected on Nigeria’s developmental journey, and expressed optimism regarding the country’s future. He additionally called on the Federal Government to uphold its promises made to Ila Orangun.
The celebrant, Chief Bisi Akande, expressed deep gratitude to all guests for celebrating his 87th birthday, describing the occasion as a moment of thanksgiving, joy, and renewed commitment to service.
The ceremony concluded with goodwill messages from family members, a closing prayer by Rt. Rev. Dr. Samuel Adekunle Osungbeju, and the official commissioning of the FUHSI project by Chief Akande.
Subsequent to the event, Hon. Adeniyi Ismail Oluwatosin accompanied Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji and other stakeholders to a central mosque in Ila Orangun for the Friday Juma’at prayer. The Chief Imam commended Asiwaju Oyebamiji for worshipping with the congregation, interpreting his presence as a demonstration of faith manifested through character. He offered prayers for Oyebamiji’s success and urged him to administer Osun State with fairness, justice, and without religious or ethnic bias if elected.
The Imam also praised Hon. Adeniyi Ismail Oluwatosin for his developmental contributions to Boluwaduro, Ifedayo, and Ila constituencies, describing him as a worthy son of Ila Orangun and a dedicated servant of the people.
In his response, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji expressed gratitude to the Imam and the congregation for their goodwill prayers and appealed to residents to actively participate in the upcoming August 8 election by voting peacefully and in large numbers.
The entire engagement exemplified the spirit of unity, tolerance, and shared commitment to community and national development.
