Osun Finance Commissioner Reassures Workers Of Govt’s Commitment To Their Welfare
-Charges Staff To Redouble Efforts In December Salaries Start Trickling In
For the upteenth time, the Osun State Commissioner for Finance, Honourable Adeola Olusola Ogungbile has reiterated that the State Government under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke will ceaselessly ensure that the welfare of all categories of workers in the state is of top priority.
Hon. Ogungbile gave the assurance during the end of the year interactive session with the staff of the Ministry.
In the course of the programme which was laced with songs of praise, the Hon. Commissioner thanked the Almighty God for His goodness towards the staff members, the government and the entire people of the State in the out-going year.
The Finance guru further appreciated Governor Adeleke-led State Government for its kind gestures, especially in the areas of prompt payment of salaries, pensions and offsetting of half salaries owed by the previous governments, as well as the initiation of several laudable programmes such as the Osun Health Insurance Scheme (OHIS), noting that the initiatives have helped to drastically reduce the mortality rate among active workers and pensioners alike.
He further assures of Governor Adeleke’s commitment to improving the well-being of workers and residents of the state, asserting that December salaries will be paid before Christmas celebrations, while half salaries will also follow immediately to enable workers and pensioners meet the enormous needs associated with yuletide period and improve the socio-economic situations of the entire residents of the State during the period and even beyond.
He used the occasion to call on the staff and the entire people of the state to support the second term bid of Governor Adeleke, charging them to shun attempts from any quarters to mortgage the future of their children with monetary inducement during the next gubernatorial election.
Meanwhile, in confirmation of his words, the December salaries have started trickling in as workers in the state have confirmed receiving the alerts and smiling to the bank.
In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Mr. Akeem Bello, urged the members of staff to be more dedicated to their statutory responsibilities in the year 2026, by contributing their quota to the success and achievements of the goals and objectives of the Ministry.
Present at the occasion were the Directors and Management Staff of the Ministry.
