An Osun-based non governmental organisation, Victory Support Foundation has called on residents of voting age to discharge their civic responsibility credibly by voting quality leader in the coming gubernatorial election.

The founder of the foundation, Ambassador Oluwabunmi Oluwafumilayo Lawal gave the charge during a free medical outreach sponsored by Southwest Progressive Group, held in Ilesa, Osun State.

Lawal, popularly known as BUMAC noted that most of the election contenders prioritize personal gain over genuine concern of the populace.

While urging the party members to be mindful of who to become the Flag- bearer, BUMAC urged the residents of the state to vote wisely and ensure that a candidate who have the interest of the state emerged victorious during the gubernatorial election.

She said the initiative which attracted numerous residents eager for cost-free healthcare, underscoring the foundation’s commitment to alleviating community hardships.

“Majority of these people contesting, they don’t have the love of people in their mind. The only thing is they are self-centred. It’s only their own self interest that they have in their mind,” she declared,

Bumac stressed the program’s apolitical nature, welcoming all residents irrespective of party lines.

“It’s not political. We are not doing it for only a party alone. We are doing it concerning all the people in the town,” she clarified, noting that services are available to anyone from the area.

At the event, attendees received comprehensive care such as : vision checks with complimentary glasses, physician consultations, blood sugar and hypertension screenings, malaria tests, and prescribed medications, all at no expense. “We are not collecting any dime from anybody. It’s free. Everything is free,” Lawal affirmed.

While speaking, former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, RT Honourable Timothy Owoeye lauded the initiative, describing it as a vital step toward public well-being.

“Health is wealth. Bringing medical outreach close to people is a way to tell the people of Osun that Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji cares about them,” Owoeye remarked,

He noted that the initiative could prolong lives for those facing financial barriers to care. He encouraged the foundation, under Oyebamiji’s guidance, to sustain and broaden its impact.

Hon. Kofoworola Omole, Vice Chairman of Ilesa East Local Government, hailed the program as an uncommon boon in Osun.

“Some people are ignorant and joke with their health and won’t go to the hospital. People are really commending this program everywhere,” Omole said, thanking the Southwest Progressive Group and advocating for ongoing assistance.

A beneficiary, Pastor M.O. Abe of The Apostolic Church appreciated his free reading glasses, said “I’m really grateful.”
