Oluwo Charges Politicians To Involve More Youth In Governance, As Onifade Launches His Autobiography
The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdurosheed Akanbi, has tasked politicians to involve more youths in governance to enable them explore the potentials in them.
Speaking in Osogbo, Osun State, on Tuesday, during the 50th birthday and book launch of Hon. Bukola Onifade, the Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Boundary Matters, Oluwo posited that youths have the potential to turn around the fortune of Nigeria, if given opportunity.
The monarch, who also posited that the era of installing old men as Kings is going, maintained that a youth King would have opportunity to carry the people along in development and exposure.
“We should allow our youth to participate in governance. I want all government to always involve the youth in governance. Some people still believe that old men should be made King, I am proud to be a youth and that is why you see me walking strongly and boldly.
“Please, involve more youths in governance. Many of them now have experience to perform, even better than the elders. I can boldly say that Iwo has exposure than any place now because I brought exposure to the town,” Oluwo said.
Governor Adeleke who was represented by the Commissioner for Government House Affairs and Protocol, Hon. Olusoji Ajeigbe, said the book, “Unbroken Destiny,” by Onifade suggests a journey of resilience, divine grace and a refusal to surrender to life’s trial.
He said his administration is committed to promoting education, creativity and personal development to enable the youths contribute to the progress of the state.
“I have followed with interest the growing contributions of young professionals like the author who, through their work and example, inspire others to believe in possibility. Osun is proud to have in its fold vibrant minds who transform personal experiences into lessons of hope and strength for society.
“I therefore encourage our youths professionals and aspiring writers to take a cue from Bukola Onifade, Esq and use their gifts (in writing, art, leadership or service) to make a positive mark on our world. Our stories matter. They preserve memory, nurture courage and light the path for those coming behind,” Adeleke said.
Appreciating the warm turnout of people who came to celebrate with him at the book launch which coincides with his birthday, Onifade commended “the love and kindness of all and sundry.”
He also appreciated the governor for giving him opportunity to serve and contribute his quota to the progress and development of the state.
The book, “UNBROKEN DESTINY, from Shattered Pieces to a Perfect Whole” is an autobiography in commemoration of the 50th birthday celebration of Onifade.
The book encapsulates the Life and Journey of Onifade, a lawyer, from birth till date, the battle fought, his doggedness and perseverance that birth his rise to stardom.
