Imbil Telecom CEO, Akeem Ogunkoya, To Receive NUJ 2025 Award Of Excellence
In a move that celebrates excellence in leadership and innovation, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun State Council, has announced that Mr. Akeem Adewale Ogunkoya, CEO of Imbil Telecom Solutions Services, will be honored with the NUJ 2025 Award of Excellence for Outstanding Telecommunications Leadership & Impact.
The award ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, 30th October 2025, at 3:00 PM at the NUJ Press Centre, Iwo-Ibadan Road, Osogbo.
Mr. Ogunkoya was unanimously nominated and approved during the August 2025 NUJ Osun State Congress in recognition of his significant contributions to telecommunications, innovation, science, and technology, as well as his impact on national development.
The NUJ Award of Excellence has a storied history of honoring individuals who have made remarkable contributions to society. Previous recipients include Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, Governor of Ogun State, for his exemplary leadership; Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State, for his transformative infrastructural initiatives; and Chief Sunday Dare, Minister of Youth and Sports Development, for his accomplishments in media and journalism. Other distinguished honorees include Emeritus Prof. Ademola Oyejide, Chief Nike Okundaye, Professor Oye Gureje, Professor Isaac Adewole, and Mallam Yusuf Ali, SAN, recognized for their exceptional contributions across governance, education, arts, and professional excellence.
Commenting on the upcoming ceremony, NUJ Osun State Council Chairman Wasiu Ajadosu and Secretary Adeyemi Aboderin praised Mr. Ogunkoya for his visionary leadership in the telecommunications sector, noting that his work continues to inspire professionals across industries.
“The NUJ Award of Excellence will further motivate Mr. Ogunkoya to continue serving the nation and humanity through innovation, technology, and ethical leadership,” the council said.
Members of the press, industry stakeholders, and the public have been invited to witness this prestigious recognition of leadership and impact.
