Why We Want To Take Over Southeast – APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South East has revealed its intention to be the dominant political party in the southeast.

Recently, there have been gales of defections and declarations of support for the APC across the country. And there are indications that the southeast may witness similar developments.

The APC leaders in the southeast reached a resolution to move to dominate the region, at a consultative meeting they held in Enugu.

At the closed door meeting were prominent southeast APC leaders like the Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodinma, his Ebonyi State counterpart, Francis Nwifuru; APC deputy national chairman South, Chief Emma Eneukwu; Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Benjamin Kalu; former Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu; minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Chief Uche Nnaji, among others.

Speaking about what transpired at the meeting, Uzodimma, who is chairman of Progressives Governors Forum and chairman of South East Governors Forum, said “We want to encourage our brothers and sisters, even those in political offices that are not members of APC to see reason for the interest of Ndigbo and southeast as a zone to to join APC that is the ruling political Party.”

He added, “it is by joining the ruling Party that the southeast zone will be very close to the corridors of power and the Federal Government.”
