Akeredolu Says He’ll Soon Presents 2017 Budget

The Ondo State Governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN has said that his administration would soon present the 2017 budget to the house of assembly.

Akeredolu disclosed this at the weekend during a debriefing between the officials of the state and World Bank team to inspect projects in the state in Akure, the state capital.

It would be recalled that the former Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko who handed over to Akeredolu was unable to present the budget before he left office on February 24 due to crisis that rocked the Assembly.

Akeredolu who was represented by his Deputy, Mr Agboola Ajayi, stated that the budget would be presented to the legislative arm of the government before fortnight.

The governor thanked the world bank officials, led by its Task Team Leader, Folusho Okunmadewa, for their special interest in the state.

He commended the previous administration on its achievements on health sector, saying it has put the state on high pedal among its pairs .

The governor assured that the government would include all the developmental plans that were in collaboration with the World Bank in the proposed budget.

His word, “In the next few weeks, you will begin to see the result of this visit, we will reach out to the House if Assembly to to pass bills that will help the smooth passage of plans to work in effectively.

“We will have a budget that will capture all the plans the world bank has for us, this budget will make the state more okay.

“Whatever area you think that will benefit our people, we are ready to do necessary things that will promote our state”.

Earlier in his comment, Okunmadewa said the objective of the meeting was to follow up on the country’s performance review.

He said the state has many good projects and advised the state government to continue to support the State Action Committee on Aids (ODSACA) in the area of battling the virus.

Okunmadewa later promised to send memoirs to the head office to facilitate actions that would help the state access counterpart funds.
