Oluomo Gbenga Owolabi Returns To PDP, Pledges Support For Adeleke’s Re-election

An Ife born politician, Oluomo Gbenga Owolabi has officially announced his return to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), vowing to work toward securing a resounding 75% victory for Governor Ademola Adeleke in the upcoming election.

Owolabi, speaking during a gathering in Ile-Ife, emphasized that his decision was driven by a commitment to ensuring good governance and furthering the progress seen under Adeleke’s administration.

Owolabi commended the governor’s leadership, highlighting the notable improvements in infrastructure, electricity restoration, and overall development across Osun State.

He stated that the ongoing efforts to improve the state’s healthcare, education, and infrastructure would be pivotal in transforming the lives of Osun citizens.

Having previously been a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Owolabi acknowledged the lessons learned during his time with the party but stressed that his true political alignment lies with the PDP, which he described as a party that champions justice, equity, and the welfare of the people.

Owolabi emphasized the significance of the modern overhead bridge project in Ile-Ife, which is set to improve connectivity and ease traffic congestion in the town.

He also lauded the governor’s focus on healthcare, ensuring that hospitals and clinics are better equipped to serve the growing needs of residents across the state.

Addressing the gathering, the elder sister of the governor, Yeyeluwa Dupe Adeleke-Sanni, expressed her appreciation for the unity within the PDP and commended party members for their unwavering support for Governor Adeleke’s leadership.

Echoing a similar views, the PDP Chairman in Osun State, Honourable Sunday Bisi called for unity among party members and reassured new and old members of equal rights within the party.

He emphasized the importance of collective action and regular meetings to foster collaboration ahead of the upcoming elections.

The event drew several high-profile attendees, including members of the PDP State Working Committee, Hon. Gbenga Onigbogbi, former Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ibukun Fadipe, Dr. Biyi Odunlade, Commissioner for Intergovernmental Affairs, and Hon. Abiodun Ojo (Fafa), Commissioner for Culture and Tourism among others.
