Protest: OAU Governing Council Threatens NASU Members

The Management of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU, has threatened to deal with some members of the Non Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASUU) who were involved in a protest over the decrement of their allowance.
According to sources, the threat was as a result of the way and manner members of NASU conducted themselves during the said demonstration.
The aggrieved protesters were said to have been throwing sachet water at some of the members of the Governing Council of the institution during the protest.
CityMirrorNews gathered that the action of the NASU members did not go down well with the school management and consequently vowed to deal with any of the erred members of the union.
The management was also quoted to have threatened to arrest and prosecute anyone found wonton on the matter.
NASU has always been having a continuous protest over the same decrement of salary.
The Obafemi Awolowo University International School teachers also protested alongside with the NASU over nine months unpaid salaries.
The protest does not affect the resumption of fresh students and it does not stop any academic work on campus, said the source.
According to the source, the peaceful protest was just to show the management that the NASU members were not happy with the situation.
