Obasanjo still bitter about aborted third term agenda, won't forgive Atiku-Lekan Ojo

A leading security expert in Nigeria and global affairs analyst, Jackson Lekan Ojo, has slammed former President Olusegun Obasanjo over his comment about former Vice-president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on alleged bribery allegation involving late Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Na’Aba.

Ojo, in an interview with newsmen on Saturday accused Obasanjo of still nursing the attendant shame that followed the abortion of his third term agenda, adding that he would never forgive Atiku for spearheading the struggle against third term.

He explained that Obasanjo deliberately waited for this time to make the allegation knowing fully well that the former speaker who could contradict his claim is no more alive, insisting that the former President is being mischievous.

The security expert added that many Nigerians are surprised by the allegation made by Obasanjo considering how he showered encomiums on Atiku in Lagos some months ago, commending him of learning the art of governance and civil administration.

Ojo opined that Obasanjo has no moral standing to accuse anybody of corruption and bad governance having failed woefully to directly impact the lives of common people while he held sway as President.

He also accused him of envy and being cynical , saying he has never commend any of his successors in office since he left power as Military Head of state in 1978 and as civilian President in 2007.

According to Ojo, the degree of Obasanjo’s failure in leadership is being reflected in the terrible state of infrastructure in his region and across Nigeria at the point he left office in 2007, describing him as a man with chameleonic character.

“Obasanjo can’t approbate and reprobate at the same time, you were the one commending Atiku some months back in Lagos and in the same breath you are accusing him of bribery, that is double standard and it is highly unbecoming of an elder state man.

“Obviously, Obasanjo’s antics is to paint Atiku black and demarket him against 2027, that is how he never see anything good in all his successors since 1979 and continued to write satanic letters like the one who knows it all

“Unfortunately, this is the man that performed woefully while in office, he made no impact in his home state and region for over eleven years he ruled the country let alone impacting the lives of Nigeriana, as far as I am concerned, the man is a failure in all ramifications.

“It is crystal clear that he is still nursing his wound of aborted third term agenda, which was championed by the former Vice-president, Atiku Abubakar to save Nigeria’s democracy and preserve it’s sanctity”,

”Obasanjo is a big name without electoral values that can be a threat to Atiku’s presidential race in 2027. The moribund power projects, ineffective radars across all our airports , billions wasted in the Ministry of Works and so on.

”How can the Odi people of the Ijaw nation forget about the lawlessness of the massacre , can the people of Zakibiam of Benue state forget the massacre in their land?

“The only achievements recorded by Obasanjo throughout his tenure was when he allowed Atiku to act effectively as the Chairman of the economic council in their first term. This is the only President that frustrated and demean the office of the Vice President because of tenure elongation”, Ojo said.
