An aide to the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, Alli Ibraheem, has announced an empowerment programme for akara sellers across Ayedire Local Government Area of Osun State as part of efforts to support grassroots businesses and mobilise support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

Alli, who serves as a Senior Legislative Aide to the Deputy Senate President, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.

According to him, his team has commenced an assessment tour across Ayedire Local Government to identify and compile the names and locations of akara sellers in Ileogbo, Oluponna, Kuta and Oke-Osun.

He said each verified beneficiary would receive financial support to boost their business.

The statement noted that the empowerment programme is part of his contribution to the election campaign of the APC governorship candidate in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO.

The exercise is scheduled to hold on Monday, July 27, 2026, at the APC Local Government Secretariat in Ileogbo by 10 a.m.

The organiser advised beneficiaries to attend the programme in person, stressing that representation by proxy would not be permitted.

Alli further disclosed that similar empowerment initiatives would subsequently be extended to other local government areas within the Osun West Senatorial District.

The programme is being coordinated by Ambassador Busari Saheed Abiodun.
