Panel Begins Sitting on Ife Crisis, Receives 104 Memo, Assures Justice, Fairness

No fewer than 104 memoranda were received by the Judicial Panel of Enquiry set by the Osun State Government to investigate the clash between Hausa and Yoruba communities at Sabo Area of Ile-Ife.
The panel which began its sitting on Wednesday, assured the general public, particularly victims of the crisis of fairness and justice.
Secretary of the panel, Mr Bisi Babalola who briefed newsmen on the activities of the panel at Oba Okunade Sijuwade Memorial Hall, Enuwa, in Ile-Ife said the sitting would be on a daily basis.
Babalola said that Governor Rauf Aregbesola set it up for truth and justice.
According to Babalola, the panel was given four weeks work on the memorandum, as well as submit the report and recommendations which would be based on the remote cause of the fracas.
Babalola said if the report should be ready within the stipulated time, otherwise the governor would give them more time to accomplish the set goal.
