Oworo Residents Decry Demolition Of Houses By Unknown Developers
-Urges Governor To Stop Illegal Demolition
Oworo Residents in Kosofe Local government area of Lagos State yesterday decried the activities of illegal Construction Company in the the area.
The Residents and Community Leaders in a statement made available on the Save our Souls (SOS)by Chief Olayinka Ogundare to Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu enjoined him to stop the activities of this unpatriotic individual and developers from causing chaotic situation in the area
According to the residents of the area “about a month ago a signpost was erected at the entrance of Olufeyisan Street, Oworonsoki and five days later team of Engineers came marking the houses and fence for demolition. ”
They posited that the existing road in the area is already in a standard form and there would be no need to embark on demolition of houses.
The Residents noted that the existing road is standard street of 10m saying the demolition of houses is to fulfil their selfish motives”.
Also yesterday when contacted on the ugly move on the demolition, the chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Moyosore Ogunlewe contended that he was not aware of the contract and knows nothing about it.
He was of the view that the contractors do not have any approval from Lagos State Government.
When contacted yesterday about the development and to know the truth position of the demolition, one of the engineers in charge from the construction company’s phone number was not going.
