I Warned About Fulani Invasion-Fadahunsi

Sen.Francis Fadahunsi, Senator representing Osun East Senatorial District, on Sunday expressed worries over the spate of kidnapping, banditry and all sort of criminality across the length and breadth of the country.

Describing the security breaches by the suspected Fulani herdsmen as worrisome, Fadaunsi recalled that he had warned on the upsurge before now.

Fadahunsi, a member of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stated this while speaking with newsmen on the sideline of his Inaugural Thanksgiving at Anglican Church of Ijesa North Diocese, Ilase in Osun.

He said , ” People are complaining bitterly about the rate of killings and kidnapping by this devilish incarnate but they forgot I warned them some years back before now.

”The Herdsmen have distributed themselves round the country and anything that happened to them they would be supported by some extremists .

”It is what is happening now and I am not surprised because I gave the early warning signal around 2013 or 2014 and was published in the dailies,” Fadahunsi said.

The Senator said he expected everybody to have been on alert when he warned ,adding that the Fulani across the country resides in most people’s farmland.

” This Fulani are in your farm dealing with you seriously, you will not complain and now that it is getting out of hand you are now complaining.

He said: “There must be a joint effort among the rural dwellers, the community and particularly the traditional rulers who sells land to the Fulani especially in tackling the problem at hand.

He called on Federal Government to put an end to killings and kidnapping caused by herdsmen/farmers conflicts across the states.

Fadahunsi, who noted that Nigerians were now living in fear due to upsurge of kidnapping and killings in the country, said government must do everything within its power to salvage the situation.

He opined that Osun is currently on top of the situation and the state is really tackling the uprising with the help of the joint task Force.

He added further that there was no way of dealing with the cattle Fulani which would not affect the residents Fulani especially in fishing out the bad ones.

He therefore charged the residents not to send them out of the state, adding that what happened to the Fulani in the bush will also affect the residents.

Fadahunsi, however, thanked God for the opportunity to represent his people, adding that he would not disappoint them .

Appreciating the people of Osun East Senatorial District for the confidence repose in him to represent him, Fadahunsi thanked the Almighty God for the opportunity to represent his people promising that he won’t disappoint them

In his sermon, Bishop of Ijesa North Diocese of the Anglican Communion of Osun, Rt. Rev. Isaac Oluyamo, thanked the Almighty God for the success of the election which brought into Office Senator Francis Fadahunsi who is also the Baba Ijo of the church

Oluyamo, however, charged the senator to put God first when dealing with sensitive issues of National Concerns in the Senate.

He added that he has told Senator Fadahunsi and the congregation that the new position is a challenge to continue to do more good and pray for the development of Nigeria, saying the Senator should not be acting like an opposition in the chamber, but to work towards the upliftment of the district, state and Nigeria as a whole.
