Excitement As Oluwo Kick-starts Maiden Football Competition Tagged ‘Telu Cup’
Ardent lovers of Sports have expressed their excitement as the Paramount Ruler of Iwoland, HIM Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, disclosed his readiness to kick-start the maiden edition of a football competition tagged “Telu Cup”
The competition is scheduled to commence next Saturday 25th October, 2023 at Oluwo Stadium in Iwo, Osun State.
Oba Akanbi stated the need to discover bright football talents and promote unity among the young ones necessitated his interest in the competition.
He urged participants to see the competition as an opportunity to showcase their talents and seek support.
A statement released by Oluwo through his press secretary, Alli Ibraheem, reads “Oluwo Football Competition tagged “Telu Cup” will commence next Saturday 25th November,2023 at Oluwo township stadium, opposite Bowen University,Iwo, Osun by 4pm. As the promoter of the competition, I will be there to flag off the soccer match”
“Iwoland is blessed with talents in all fields and disciplines. Football, being one of the leading engagements for the youth, I want to invest heavily in it primarily to discover and promote talents. In the process, unity will also be registered among our growing youth”
“About 30 football clubs have registered. The committee is in place to ensure best outings in the history of football competitions in our land”
“I enjoin the youth to maximize the opportunity and convert it to advantage. The competition will form part of my annual routines. I’m hopeful by next year, we would be proud to have national and international football talents. If you are a football talent, you are assured of my support and encouragement “
