Oluwo In The Eyes Of Storms By Ibraheem Alli

On 30th October, 2020, the Late Alaafin of Oyo, Alayeluwa Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, with his princes and some chiefs, visited Oluwo of Iwoland, HIM Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, in his palace. The visit followed a hot encounter between the duo at a function in Ikoyi, Ayedire Local Government of Iwoland. When two deep men argue, they settle it in the deeper realm.

During the visit, Oba Lamidi Alaafin revealed ” “My first 20yrs on the throne was rough and turbulent than that of Oluwo. It is imperative we imbibe the idea of appointing young ones as kings in Yorubaland. Those enthroned at old age don’t fight to enjoy their reign. I commend the courage of Oluwo. He is a true replica of me. Omo o le jo baba, kama binu omo. Equally, Iwo should have been made the capital of Osun if not for certain political manipulation that happened at that time. Oluwo was never a Baale. It is an ancient crown”.

Aside two previous visits to the Alaafin, in reciprocation, the chary Oluwo visited Alaafin again. In fact, he was the last Paramount Ruler to visit the Alaafin. At this period, it was a camera discussion and I was opportune to have an intimate contact with Alaafin. During the discussion, Alaafin commended Oluwo for his traditional governance, Royal paths, beliefs and trust. Alaafin thereafter sent luggage of historical books to buttress the historical revelations of Oluwo. Baba Alaafin supported the historical encyclopedia with a cheque of two hundred and fifty thousand naira. I snapped and kept the cheque till date. At the private meeting, Baba Alaafin pledged to visit Oluwo the following month on his way to an event scheduled to hold in Gbongan, a town in Osun State. And Alaafin said “Oluwo, we will go to the event together and I will shatter the house of lies publicly”. Man proposes, God disposes. The event was held but without the late Alaafin.

Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, is a special breed, well exposed and divinely versed. Many attacking him are ignorant of his pure vision for Yorubaland. Oluwo is a product of deadly challenges. He loves to be challenged. He is a market. Many thought their attacks hold any water. When you are made to be great, you can’t sustain it without a thick skin because many will throw stones.

I noticed Oluwo and discovered one of his secondary strengths. His primary strength is Olodumare. One of his secondary strengths is criticism. He loves to be criticized. He tells the truth and is consistent with it. The more you criticize him, the merrier he gets. The storms that dust the eyes of many are the potency of Oluwo. When he reads antagonistic comments against him, he laughs and plays for his antagonists. He tagged them “Agents of Free Publicity”. You don’t organize a market and complain about noise.

A monarch that will make a great king will witness a controversial attack for his new ideas/approaches. Yorubas have not gotten it right with analogue traditional governance. You can’t do things the same way and expect different results. The results are sure because the means are pure.

Oluwo has committed his throne to free teaming youth from the poverty of the mind, waging consistent war against barbaric practices such as sorcery, ritual killing and other occultic engagements. Many youthful talents have wasted waiting for occultic miracles. Students and countless innocent individuals have been murdered as ritual offerings. Oluwo has been a consistent preacher of pure, unadulterated monarchy. His preaching is the strength of the future. Enough to scare them. You don’t raise a king by scaring, you do by embracing.

The Social media wailers whose primary interest is to discredit Oluwo should do more. Akanbi’s Royal revelling in your remarks contains a body blood tonic. His Royal accessories are sewed to absorb sharp objects. He has wore Royal cap of no distraction. He is not building a social media empire, he is constructing an enviable kingdom for others to emulate. I pray you live to witness the greatness of an emperor.
