A boxing promoter Abimbola Adeoye has predicted a tough bout between Nigeria born British boxer Anthony Joshua and Dillian White which would end with the former World Boxing Corporation ( WBC) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) winning in a split decision.

Speaking in Ibadan while previewing the imminent boxing bout that has been fixed for August 12, at the 02 arena in London, Adeoye who has organized many boxing matches at the Lekan Salami stadium said he foresees Joshua winning the bout after going through all the twelve rounds during the scheduled fight.

He noted that since Joshua defeated his British compatriot en route the 2020 Olympics Games, he can repeat the same feat adding that he only has to be very careful not to miss his step and hit the canvas.

“ When he hits the canvas, it would be very difficult for him to get his bearing back” Adeoye whose father was the former Chairman of Oyo State Amateur Boxing Association ( OSABA) for many years before his death pointed out.
“Joshua has an opportunity to win this match but he needs to ensure that he does not get carried away because one mistake in boxing may see you hitting the canvas” he noted.

“ But with the fights and training going on in Joshua’s camp, I see him winning. It is not a matter of complex” said the promoter who was also one of those who nurtured Rilwan Adekola also known as Scorpion who has turned professional in Japan to limelight.

“Having defeated him in 2020 , I see him doing this again otherwise he risks quitting boxing boxing as a career, hence the reason he has to win and rescue his career” he posited.

“ Joshua has to work very hard and be more purposeful and he has to consider all the odds in order to win again and position himself for the next match that might enable him win a heavyweight match even though he stands around twenty five thousand dollars in this match if he wins “ Adeoye observed.

“I do not see him winning through knockout but in a split decision since boxing these days is entertainment” he opined “ he should bear it in mind that he would be retiring from boxing if he lose this bout and that is why he needs to be very calculative because White is a very strong boxer”
