Oyo SWAN Election: NTA Reporter, Ayomiku Emerges New Chairman

Mr Ajibola Ayomiku of the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA , Ibadan network center has emerged Chairman of the Sport Writer ASSOCIATION of Nigeria( SAWAN) Oyo state chapter

Ayomiku won with a landslide victory against his opponent from the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, Mr. Remi Koleoso.

The election which was keenly contested at the Oyo State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Iyaganku, Ibadan, saw Mr. Ayomiku emerging with 36 votes to beat Mr. Koleoso who polled seven votes.

In his victory speech, Mr. Ayomiku extended his appreciation to all members of SWAN in the state for their trust and support.

He promised to work assiduously to uphold the values and standard of Sport Writer Association of Nigeria.

Comrade Ayomiku further assured of the commitment of the current executive to work with ethical, accurate and impactful to move the union forward in the state.

He promised to work and collaborate with all members of SWAN in the state to raise the profile of the association and to promote it to highest standard of journalism.

“My fellow sports journalists, it is with great honor and humility that I stand before you as the newly elected Chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, oyo State chapter.

“I want to thank you all for your support and trust, and I promise to work tirelessly to uphold the values and standards of this organization.

“I believe that sports journalism has a crucial role to play in our society, and I am committed to ensuring that our work is ethical, accurate, and impactful.

“I look forward to collaborating with all of you to raise the profile of this association and to promote the highest standards of journalism. Thank you.”
