Nigerians Now Pray For APC’s Removal From Power – Obi

Mr. Peter Obi, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), vice presidential candidate of in the last election, has said that Nigerians are now praying for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to be removed from power for the actualisation of the country’s redemption.

Obi, who was addressing the 8th session of the party’s stakeholders meeting in Awka on Saturday, described PDP now as a very good brand, even as maintained that those who said former President Goodluck Jonathan was weak, now had been praying for people like him to return to power.

He said the PDP won the last general elections as evidenced from the number of governors elected on its platform.
On the on-going handling presidential election petition, Obi said that neither he, nor the PDP would surrender, until victory was achieved.

Earlier, PDP leaders had vowed never to lose Anambra State to any other party come 2021, saying the state has been in PDP’s kitty since 1998 until Mr. Obi defeated a governor elected on the platform of the party in the tribunal.
They charged Obi to use the magic wand he deployed in dislodging PDP in 2006 to reclaim the state in 2021.

Chief Ndubisi Nwobu, PDP’s state chairman, had in his address recounted the party’s achievements in the last general elections, saying it won two Senatorial, six House of Representatives and six House of Assembly seats, with the hope of winning more at the tribunal.

Nwobu said for the first time in many years, the party was peaceful and no aspirant was fleeced or extorted to be nominated to run for a seat.

Various speakers at the event, urged aspirants in the 2021 governorship aspirants to begin campaigns, while urging the party to penetrate every nook and cranny of the state.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the party commended its leaders, both at state and national level, even as they thanked the elected members for their working relationship with the state executive.

They pledged to support the presidential and vice presidential candidates in their quests to reclaim the mandate allegedly given to them in the last election.

The meeting was attended by the governorship candidate, Hon. Oseloka Obaze, and his running mate Mrs. Chidi Onyemelukwe, Senator Ben Ndii Obi, Senator Uche Ekwunife, Iyom Josephine Anine, Dr. Obiora Okonkwo, members of the National Assembly and House of Assembly members, among others.
