APC Elders Pick Akin Ogunbiyi As Consensus Candidate For Osun West Senatorial District

The apex leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Osun West has declared that, Dr. Akinade Ogunbiyi will be the senatorial candidate from the zone.

This was part of the communique issued and signed by its chairman, Hon. Omolaoye Akintola at the end of its meeting held at Prof. Ladipo’s house in Iwo, the headquarters of the district on Thursday.

According to the communique, the apex leaders keenly considered presenting a sole candidate to further unite the party in the district.

The communique reads this; “The APEX leaders of Osun West Senatorial District met today ,the 30th day of April, 2026 in the residence of our leader,Prof. O.O.Ladipo ,Iwo”

“The body met mainly to consider, approve and recommend ONE of its TEN Senatorial Aspirants as the Party’s FLAGBEARER for the Senate Seat in the forth coming general election of 2027 and forward same to the APC State Chairman’s Office through the Party’s Secretary’s Office, Osogbo, Osun State”

“APC,Osun West Senatorial District Aspirants are :Dr.Akinade A.Ogunbiyi; Hon. Bade Falade; Prince Dotun Babayemi; Rtd.Gen Basiru Adewinbi;Dr.Peter Ogundeji;Dr.Mojeed Oluogun; Rt.Hon. Amere Gafar A.; Dr. Adegbenge Suraju Salawu; Hon. Adebayo Waliyulah Oladosu and Rtd. Gen. Adeniran”

“After extensive deliberations, the body unanimously selected ,approved and herein recommend Dr. Akinade Akanmu OGUNBIYI from Iwo Federal Constituency as OSUN WEST SENATORIAL DISTRICT’S CANDIDATE for the forthcoming 2027 general elections”
