I Lived In Friend’s House Throughout My Tenure As Governor – Aregbesola
Former Osun State Governor and ex-Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has revealed that he did not own a personal house throughout his eight-year tenure as governor of the state, saying he lived in a friend’s residence during the period.
Speaking in a video shared with his supporters, Aregbesola said he remained without a personal house while serving as governor in his home state.
“I’m the first governor in Nigeria to rule a state for eight years without owning a house of his own. I stayed in my friend’s house for eight years as a governor in my father’s land. Whoever says that what I’m saying is not true should come out and show me the house I own,” he said.
Aregbesola served as governor of Osun State from 2010 to 2018 before he was appointed Minister of Interior by former President Muhammadu Buhari.
During his tenure as governor, he pursued policies aimed at reducing poverty, unemployment and hunger, improving healthcare and education, and promoting peace and development across the state.
