Osun: Foundation Distributes 10000 Exercise Books to Iwo Grammar School Students

The Olusegun Elijah Olasunkanmi Foundation has distributed 10000 pieces of 40-leaf branded exercise books to students of Iwo Grammar School, Iwo, Osun State, as part of its efforts to support education and reduce the burden on parents.

The distribution, which took place at the school in Iwo Local Government Area of the state, is an initiative of the foundation aimed at providing learning materials to students of public schools at the beginning of every new term.

Speaking on behalf of the founder, the Foundation’s Secretary, Ifeolu Adegbenle, said the gesture was designed to complement the efforts of the government in providing quality education for children across the state.

Adegbenle urged the students not to see themselves as inferior because they attend public schools, stressing that many successful Nigerians began their educational journey in public institutions.

She said, “Our founder started his educational career in a public school before attaining greater heights in his chosen career. He understands the importance of education and has always prioritised it.”

She charged the students to take their studies seriously and make good use of the opportunities available to them, adding that education remained a major pathway to achieving their aspirations.

Adegbenle also commended the teachers for their dedication and contribution to the academic and moral development of the students.

Another member of the foundation, Mr Timothy Oyedokun, urged the students to remain studious and regard education as a lasting legacy that could positively shape their future.

Oyedokun also advised the students to shun violence and other activities capable of disrupting their education and truncating their future.

The Principal of the school, Mrs Aderonke Adesingbin, expressed appreciation to the foundation for the gesture, saying the exercise books would go a long way in supporting teaching and learning in the school.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Master Rasheed Abeeb and Miss Rofiat Azeez thanked the foundation for the donation and promised that the students would make judicious use of the materials.

The foundation said the initiative would continue as part of its contribution to educational development and support for students in public schools.
