APC National Secretary Mourns Sheikh AbdulLateef Owolabi’s Demise, Describes Him As An Honest, Upright Muslim Leader
The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress Dr Ajibola Basiru has expressed shock and sadness over the demise of the renowned cleric and preacher, Sheikh AbdulLateef Owolabi.
Sheikh Owolabi breathed his last early this morning. Dr Basiru described the death of the famous Islamic scholar as a loss to the Islamic fold in Osogbo, Osun State and Nigeria.
“Baba Owolabi was a firebrand Islamic preacher. We would listen to his recorded sermons and preachings when we were young and we all hoped to be like him some day.”
“His Tafseer programme, Quraan exegesis, during Ramadhan was a crowd puller. One cannot but continue to remember the benefits people got from him during his days as the Chairman of Osun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board. Baba was a cheerful giver.”
Describing Sheikh AbdulLateef Owolabi as an honest, upright Muslim leader who would say the truth not minding whose ox is gored, Dr Ajibola Basiru prays Allaah to accept his return, reward his virtues with Aljannah firdaus and uphold his immediate and extended families.
