Adeleke Condoles With Family, Muslim Ummah Over Passing Of Chief Imam Of Sumuratul Mumenin Mosque, Sheikh Abdulateef Owolabi
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has received with shock the news of the death of Sheikh Abdulateef Owolabi, the Chief Imam of Sumuratul Mumenin Mosque, Osogbo.
The Governor described the late Islamic leader as an highly respected scholar, faith leader, and moral teacher whose lifetime was devoted to the service of Allah, the strengthening of Islamic values, and the promotion of peaceful coexistence among people.
He noted that the late Imam was widely admired for his knowledge, and commitment to guiding the Muslim faithful, adding that his contributions to religious growth and community harmony will remain enduring.
Governor Adeleke stated that the passing of Sheikh Owolabi represents a significant loss not only to Sumuratul Mumenin Mosque but also to the entire Muslim community in Osun State and beyond.
He offered prayers to Almighty Allah to pardon his shortcomings, reward his good deeds, and grant him eternal rest in Al-Jannatul Firdaus, while also asking Allah to comfort his family, congregation, and all who were impacted by his teachings.
“His presence brought calm, direction, and spiritual strength to many. He will be greatly missed,” the Governor declared in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed.
