You’re A Statesman With Distinction, Adeleke Salutes Akande At 87

Osun State Government has congratulated the former Governor and National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Adebisi Akande on his 87th birthday.

A statement signed by the Governor described the octogenarian as a blessing not just to Osun State but to Nigeria at large.

According to Adeleke, Chief Bisi Akande is living on the positive side of history as one of the leaders who invested their energy, time, and resources in national development.

The Governor noted with passion how Chief Akande constructed the Osun State Government Secretariat between 1999 and 2003 when he was elected as the Governor of Osun State.

“Chief Bisi Akande is a seasoned politician and statesman. He has served Nigeria with distinction in various capacities. He has his name written in gold on the formation of credible opposition with the birth of the then Alliance for Democracy (AD) which later metamorphosed into Action Congress (AC), Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), and later the All Progressives Congress APC which is now the ruling party in Nigeria”.

The Governor while praying that God spare the life of Baba Bisi Akande with sound health, he noted that Baba Akande is a reservoir of knowledge on Public administration, political development, and regional development.

“As former Governor of Osun State, National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Secretary to the Government of the old Oyo State, Chief Akande’s contributions to national development are immeasurable.” The Governor in a statement signed by his spokesperson Mallam Olawale Rasheed, disclosed.

“His leadership and vision have left lasting impacts on Osun State and Nigeria at large. We acknowledge his dedication to public service and commitment to the progress of our nation.”
