NURTW, Spare Parts Dealers, Hunters Endorse APC’s Oyebamiji Ahead Of Osun Governorship Poll

The campaign train of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, received a major boost on Monday as the leadership and members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Ajegunle Osogbo spare parts dealers and the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Services endorsed his candidacy ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

The groups, in separate endorsements, attributed their support for Oyebamiji to what they described as his verifiable political, administrative and professional antecedents in both the public and private sectors.

They pledged to mobilise their members and supporters across the state to vote massively for the APC candidate in the August 15 election.

Speaking at the different endorsement events, the NURTW caretaker chairman in Osun State, Comrade Kazeem Oyewale, popularly known as Asiri Eniba; the National Head and Commander-General of the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Services, Ambassador Osatimehin Joshua Wole; and the Chairman of Ajegunle Market Spare Parts Dealers, Alhaji Adebisi Abdul-Rasheed, described Oyebamiji as disciplined, philanthropic and God-fearing.

The leaders expressed confidence in his capacity to provide purposeful leadership for the state, promising to work assiduously for his victory at the poll.

Abdul-Rasheed said the endorsement was aimed at demonstrating the group’s confidence in Oyebamiji’s competence and track record.

He said, “We are here today to prove to the whole world that we are for Oyebamiji. He is a tested and trusted person. He has been a pillar of support to humanity.

“He did very well as a commissioner. He performed excellently well as the head of Osun State Investment Company Limited, OSICOL, and Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority, NIWA.”

According to him, the group had resolved to mobilise its members and work towards securing victory for Oyebamiji, whom he described as the preferred candidate to lead the state.

He added, “We have seen yesterday’s government, we have equally seen today’s government, and we are resolute to work for the victory of tomorrow’s government. Our preferred candidate is Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, in whom we are pleased to lead our dear state to enviable heights and take Osun residents to greater heights.”

Responding to the endorsements at the various venues, Oyebamiji thanked the groups for what he described as their bold decision to identify with his candidacy.

The APC candidate assured them that, if elected, his administration would run an inclusive and participatory government that would prioritise the welfare and development of the people.

Oyebamiji also acknowledged the widespread support and endorsements he had received from different segments of the society since emerging as the APC governorship candidate.

He pledged to take governance closer to the grassroots by ensuring that communities and residents were carried along in government policies and programmes.

The former commissioner assured the people that his administration would ensure that the benefits of governance were felt across the state, regardless of political affiliation or social status.

Oyebamiji described the growing endorsements from various groups as a “pointer to victory”, promising to raise the standard of governance and provide purposeful leadership if elected governor on Saturday.
