Osun Community Demands Probe Of Aduramigba Road Works, Defends Engineer Aaraj

Youths from the Aduramigba community in Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun State have condemned what they described as an unwarranted and politically motivated attack on Engr. Raji Kehinde, Managing Director of AARAJ Nigeria Limited.
The reaction follows a recent statement by Ajenifuja Rafiu, a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who accused Engr. Kehinde of misleading the public on the quality of the Aduramigba road project.
But in a statement signed by Adeoti Emmanuel on behalf of the concerned youths of Aduramigba, the group maintained that the facts support Engr. Kehinde’s position.
“If what Engr. Kehinde said about the quality of the Aduramigba road project was false, why did Governor Ademola Adeleke set up a committee to review the project? The government’s action is enough confirmation that the concerns raised were genuine,” the youths said.
They noted that Engr. Kehinde’s track record cannot be dismissed, recalling that under his leadership, AARAJ Nigeria Limited was rated the best contractor under the Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAMP) in 2017—an achievement that helped Osun State rise from fifth to first position among 15 states participating in the World Bank-supported programme.
The statement emphasized that the World Bank-funded road project is not just for the benefit of Aduramigba but for Osun State at large. It called for transparency and quality assurance in execution, stressing that public resources must be accounted for.
The youths further pointed out a contradiction in the narrative being pushed by Ajenifuja Rafiu. They referenced the visit of the Commissioner for RAMP and Rural Projects, Alhaji Gani Ola-Oluwa, who was reportedly sent by the state government to appeal to aggrieved residents of Aduramigba.
“This visit, alongside the decision to set up a review committee, affirms that something went wrong and further validates Engr. Kehinde’s concerns,” they said.
Describing Rafiu’s claim that Engr. Kehinde demanded N4 billion as “baseless,” the youths called the allegation defamatory and urged the engineer to consider legal action for cyber harassment and defamation.
The group also cautioned political figures and party loyalists against reckless speech.
“Using words like ‘interloper’ to describe a respected professional is irresponsible. We urge Ajenifuja Rafiu and others to verify their facts before making public statements,” the statement warned.
The statement concluded with a call on relevant authorities to investigate the Aduramigba road project and ensure those responsible for any substandard work are held accountable.
“Engr. Kehinde’s concerns are genuine and must not be swept under the carpet. We demand justice and accountability for our community,” the youths added.
