Renewed Hope Ambassadors Mobilise Support For Oyebamiji Ahead Of Osun Governorship Election

The Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Osun State on Wednesday embarked on a “Walk to Victory” rally in Osogbo to mobilise support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

Hundreds of members of the group converged on the popular Aiyetoro area of Osogbo before marching through Igbona Market, Old Garage, MDS, Olaiya and Ogo-Oluwa. The procession terminated at the Tinubu-Shettima Campaign Office in Osogbo.

Speaking during the rally, the Osun State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Oluomo Sunday Akere, said the mobilisation was aimed at demonstrating the group’s support and commitment to Oyebamiji’s victory at the polls.

Akere said the rally was also an opportunity to sensitise residents to the need for political change in the state, expressing confidence that voters would rally behind the APC candidate on Saturday.

He claimed that the group had a membership structure of more than 95,000 people across the state, describing the large turnout at the rally as a reflection of growing support for Oyebamiji.

According to him, the people of Osun were yearning for a governor who would prioritise development, good governance and effective service delivery.

Akere also dismissed suggestions that the APC candidate was relying on the influence of the Federal Government to win the election.

“Our coming out today is to show our support and commitment towards the victory of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the candidate of the APC, on Saturday.

“What we have here today is the Renewed Hope Ambassador structure in Osun, mobilising support and telling the people of Osun that it is time for change.

“Come Saturday, August 15, the people of Osun will vote en masse for the APC and for our candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, who, by the grace of God, will become the next governor,” he said.

Also speaking, the Director of Security of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Osun, Amos Adekunle Victor, appealed to political parties, candidates and voters to ensure a peaceful and violence-free election.

“We just want it to be a violence-free and peaceful election. Everybody should come out and vote. Security will be provided for everybody that needs to come and vote.

“Rest assured that it’s going to be peaceful. Security will be there, the votes will be counted, and the votes will count,” he said.

Similarly, Adebowale Azeem said the turnout for the rally demonstrated that the group was not depending on what he described as “federal might” to secure victory for Oyebamiji.

“You can see the turnout. If we were banking on federal might, you would not see this kind of turnout. Numerous people are here trying to ensure victory in the election on Saturday,” he said.

A women leader of the group, Dr Romoke Abiola, said women across the state would mobilise massively in support of Oyebamiji during Saturday’s election.

Abiola said women would turn out across the 30 local government areas and the area office to vote for the APC candidate, whom she described as a “productive and resourceful man.”

“When we talk about productivity, AMBO is there, so the women should expect prosperity,” she said.
